Can I Get a Refund?

Updated over a week ago

Under what circumstances can I request a refund?

You may be eligible for a refund in the following cases:

Reduction Requests:

  • If your creditor declines your submitted reduction request.

  • If savings are unable to be secured within 60 days of submitting the request.

Student Loan Tool:

  • If your application is denied due to ineligibility

How does the refund process work?

Reduction Requests:

If your reduction request is declined or unsuccessful, the refund process will automatically begin. The platform fee for that specific reduction request will be fully refunded to your original payment method.

Student Loan Tool:

If your application is denied, please reach out to us with the reason provided by the servicer. We can review your case and process a refund on a case-by-case basis. In some cases, your servicer may just need additional information before accepting your application.

How long does it take to process a refund?

Refunds are typically processed within 10 business days after a request or application has been declined or unsuccessful.

Are refunds available if savings are achieved?

No, platform fees are non-refundable if your reduction request results in savings. The fee covers the process of securely and automatically sending your request to your creditor.

Can I request a refund before the creditor makes a decision?

Refunds cannot be requested until your creditor or servicer has made a decision. For reduction requests, creditors have up to 60 days to review and respond. Once a decision is made—or the review period has passed—we’ll determine your refund eligibility. For Student Loans, you’ll need to wait for your servicer’s decision, which typically takes 2–6 weeks depending on their processing time; however, there is no guaranteed timeframe for this tool.
